Description:
New book, 92 pages. No.485 (NZ) Squadron was the first of six squadrons created to defend Great Britain during WW2 and manned by New Zealanders. As fighter unit, the unit participated to the first offensive missions over occupied Europe in 1941, before being part of the 2nd TAF in 1943 to take part to D-Day a couple of months later. The unit terminated the war in Germany. In 92 pages, the history of the Squadron is narrated, followed by full appendices comprising all the claims, losses (including accidental), awards, maps and the operational diary. In the third and last part, the pilot roster gives details for each pilot who served with No.485 Sqn, including his war career when known. About 100 photos are published some for the first time, as well eight colour profiles.
